Job description

Principal Activities

Reviews customers’ requirements and proposes solutions based on the company products portfolio considering the technical and commercial framework

Reviews technical specifications and commercial requirements. If necessary, clarifies discrepancies/deviations prior to quote preparation

Details the preferred technical solution in cooperation with internal and external interfaces considering commercial aspects and cost/pricing Impact

Elaborates complete technical and commercial SAP quotations for Indian Navy end Users (After market and Foremarket). Revises quotation based on feedback/modifications from customers during quote phase and order execution, as per the guidance following the Global DoA (Delegation of Authorities)

Always sources for local (Indian) suppliers, capable & qualified to ensure navy requirements fulfillment (electrical motors, castings, seals, instrumentations etc.) in line with the “Make In India” Governmental Initiative

Works closely with engineering/product management teams to offer customized or Tailor- made/Custom Built solutions addressing all our customers’ needs and wants

Monitors together with sales management/independent sales representatives/Channel Partners, market development & trends and communicates with sales, product management, engineering and operations teams including the supply chain.

Supports field sales team and other sales channels with its technical expertise for special pumps and applications in offers follow-up, project negotiations, frame agreements and trade shows.

He or She oversees order entry and whenever applicable will submit to customers complete deviations lists, order acceptance and commercial terms and conditions

Ensures the project management leadership on every Navy foremarket order, he or she acts as the customer representative internally.

Requirements

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Positive Attitude and Cultural Fit

Functional Knowledge of Technical Sales/Application Engineering will be essential, ideally in the Defense Sector

Knowledge of Positive Displacement (PD) and Centrifugal (Dynamic) Pumps will be an added advantage, besides additional knowledge of VFDs, Motors, Instrumentations, acoustics, shock mounts etc.

Projects handling Experiences will be an advantage

Preference for Persons having MNC (Multinational Companies) working/handling experience

Multi-lingual (Indian) experience/knowledge with excellent English language skills

Proficiency in French will be an added advantage though not essential

Computer literate and able to work in MS office programs and SAP

Customer-oriented, positive, and communicative personality

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and 3 plus years experiences in sales support and application engineering of complex and consultancy intensive products

Navy background with its typical requirements will be a plus (de risking critical sourcing, acoustic, shock mounts etc.).
