Responsible for sourcing & procurement of the part based on Schedules from manufacturing Demand & ensure no loss of production due to unavailability of parts.
Development of regular & project related parts & vendor developments.
Understanding the supplier capability, capacity and constraints and work closely to ensure the plans are met on timely manner.
Work closely with the Marketing, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing teams for development of Project Parts.
In-depth understanding of Metal Processing i.e. Machining, Plating, Casting, Bending & forging process, and ability to resolve day to day issues related parts quality.
Cost saving initiative using supplier risk mitigation tools like Localization, APAC Localization & Dual sourcing of Parts.
Prepare PO & follow up of materials from Domestic & International suppliers.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Diploma / Degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical or Metal stream.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Metal Processing Unit & aware of IATF compliance.

Knowledge of Metal Process i.e. Machining, Cutting, Casting, Plating, Bending & Forging.

Requirements

Skills & Competencies

Should have at least 5 years on hand experience in vendor development and strategic sourcing for Metal components.

High level knowledge and familiarity with metal grades, standards and certifications (e.g., ASTM, ISO, BIS)

Problem Solving Skills addressing quality issues, delays or supply disruptions proactively and identifying alternate sources in case of emergencies

Knowledge of Supplier Quality Systems

Supplier Auditing Process and Technical understanding

Cost Analysis and budgeting

High level negotiation skills

Expert in 6 Sigma and Quality Management (PPAP and FMEA)

Possess analytical and technical skills required for decision making

Excellent verbal, interpersonal & communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external business partners

Must be highly proficient in Letter Drafting, Expert User of MS Excel & Power Point.
