Job Purpose
The Manager - Sustainability will support the development and implementation of the organization’s sustainability and ESG strategy. The role will drive sustainability initiatives, ensure regulatory and reporting compliance, and coordinate ESG programs across all manufacturing locations to strengthen the company’s sustainability performance, transparency, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
ESG Strategy & Implementation
- Support the development and execution of the organization’s ESG and sustainability roadmap aligned with business strategy and corporate objectives.
- Drive sustainability initiatives across manufacturing plants including energy efficiency, water stewardship, carbon footprint reduction, resource efficiency, and waste management.
- Monitor implementation of ESG commitments and track sustainability targets across plants.
ESG Reporting & Compliance
- Report sustainability and ESG performance data as per CIE Global reporting requirements on a monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Coordinate ESG disclosures under multiple sustainability frameworks.
- Prepare and manage ESG disclosures including Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, sustainability, and EHS regulations.
- Maintain sustainability data management systems and track ESG performance indicators.
ESG Risk Management
- Identify ESG risks and environmental impacts across operations and value chain activities.
- Support development and implementation of mitigation strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Data Management & Analytics
- Act as administrator for sustainability portals and ESG data management platforms.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret ESG and sustainability data across plant locations.
- Identify performance gaps, trends, and opportunities for improvement through data-driven insights.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate sustainability performance to internal stakeholders including leadership teams and plant management.
- Support engagement with customers, investors, and external stakeholders on ESG initiatives and sustainability performance.
Policy & Governance
- Support development and implementation of ESG-related policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Conduct benchmarking and gap assessments against industry best practices and peer organizations.
Sustainability Programs
- Coordinate sustainability projects with external consultants and internal cross-functional teams.
- Promote sustainability culture through training programs, employee awareness initiatives, and internal campaigns.
Integration with EHS
- Collaborate with plant EHS teams to align environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
- Support corporate oversight and monitoring of EHS and sustainability performance across all plants.
Educational Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Environmental / Production / Automobile Engineering
- Postgraduate qualification or MBA in Sustainability / ESG / Environmental Management preferred.
Functional / Technical Competencies

- Understanding of environmental and EHS regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of carbon accounting, GHG inventory preparation, and climate strategy.
- ESG data analysis and sustainability reporting.
- Sustainability project management and program implementation.
- Stakeholder engagement and sustainability communication.
- Experience in benchmarking ESG performance and sustainability assessments.
