Job description

Candidates with hands-on civil engineering experience looking for development into an office-based role.

➢ Candidates with vocational or degree-level qualifications in civil engineering (or similar), with an interest in an engineering-focused career.

➢ Experience in quantity surveying

➢ Experience in Autocad and other related drawing softwares.

➢ Candidates with experience gained specifically in infrastructure projects

➢ Qualification in civil Engineering (vocational or degree-level).

➢ Provide fast, accurate estimates for price and delivery requirements including, material, tooling and sub-contract prices

➢ Accurately reviewing customer specifications and drawings

➢ Analytical with the ability to understand complex information and excellent problem-solving skills

➢ Liaise with project managers and site engineers regarding design issues

➢ Strong attention to detail

➢ Ability to work to strict standards and procedures

➢ Good communications skills

➢ Sound IT systems/Microsoft Office skills

➢ Ability to work on own initiative

➢ Good organisational skills

➢ Flexible and adaptable

➢ Numeric skills

Drawings using auto cad, BIM, Tekla or autodesk inventor.

Requirements

➢ Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project.

➢ Prepare tender documents, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation. Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.

➢ Create estimates using electronic estimating software to produce accurate and profitable tenders/actions to meet the requirements given by the client.

➢ prepare Boq for the projects

➢ prepare detailed Autocad/Autodesk Inverntor shop drawings

➢ Maintain and record tender/action details in the database and ensure accurate record keeping.

➢ To follow up on actions to obtain information on the outcome in order to identify areas for improvement in future actions.

➢ Create detailed contract files for successful tenders including project costs, specifications, payment terms etc.

➢ Liaise with Project Manager to provide an accurate and effective handover agenda and ensure continued communication where necessary.

➢ To assist with the development of, and to maintain, robust processes with an emphasis driven through Quality Cost and Delivery.

➢ Liaise with internal departments to ensure the highest standards are met.

➢ Continuous improvement of methods and processes in terms of both quality and efficiency.

➢ Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required in order to fulfil the aims and objectives.
